My focus and goal eight years ago was to design an electronic drum set that would meet the needs of every player. I've been playing drums for 38 years and electronic drums for 21 years. I have never been satisfied with the feel or look of electronic drums in general. The playing surface was always either too hard or bouncy for my taste. With the vision of merging acoustic and electronic drums, I created the company R.E.T. Percussion. Through extensive design and engineering, Rhythm Electronic Technology has taken electronic drums to the next level: Virtual Percussion Technology. In 2006 R.E.T. Percussion became the FIRST Software Based Drum Company. Surpassing the technology of the conventional electronic drum set, VPT has rocketed R.E.T. into the forefront of modern drumming. The Real Feel, Real Look, and now Real Sounds of acoustics are fully Virtual!

Each kit is totally hand crafted from the ground up. I've always admired the craftsmanship of custom shop instruments and wanted to apply the same quality to our products. Each product is custom built in our USA Custom Shop by highly skilled drum craftsmen. In designing the product, I wanted it to be suitable in all venues whether it be at home, in a studio, in a sanctuary or on a stage. This is where the whole custom shop idea came from. With many hours of design and engineering that has gone into this product, I believe that we have created the best custom shop electronic drum kit in the world today.
